The Tustin
Unified School District will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony
for the new state-of-the-art Science Center at Foothill High
School at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov 5.
Invitation
Additionally,
there will be a Community Open House Night at the Foothill
Science Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30. The public
is invited to the event. The school is located at 19251
Dodge Ave.
The two-story
facility is approximately 48,000 sq. ft. and features
biology, chemistry and physics labs; earth science and
physical science classrooms; and other rooms.
The building
was designed by NTD Architecture and constructed by
Barnhart, Inc. It is located adjacent to the staff parking
lot on campus near Newport Ave. and Foothill Blvd.
The total
cost of the project is approximately $19 million, which is
being funded through the Measure G campus modernization
program. Measure G was passed in 2002 by the voters to
repair and renovate the 20 oldest schools in the Tustin
school district.
